General Accountabilities:

The Applications Development Manager will play key role in the development and management of platform components that support the business capability leveraged by SE2 internal stakeholders and clients by leading a development team consisting of developers, system analysts, testers, and production support. Be a player coach and lead the team to develop quality software based on best practices, coding guidelines and standard patterns. Closely monitor resource demand and ensure there is an appropriate supply of talented staff/capacity, adequate technological capabilities, and that platform wellness initiatives are completed in reasonable timeframes.  Partner with SE2 Operations and/or SE2 project leadership to ensure projects and service delivery teams are appropriately staffed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 8-12 members
  • Driving positive outcomes as it relates to availability of performant and quality software components & efficient delivery through automation
  • Recruit (if needed), motivate and manage team member performance
  • Drive positive outcomes for the ongoing support, troubleshooting, improvements, or custom enhancements to existing SE2 platforms.
  • Collaborate with our global teams, internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Act as a mentor and coach for your team.

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of software development, project management, or people management experience.
  • Graduate degree in technology, business, and finance and relevant leadership experience in the technology field.
  • Experience in developing and leading teams leveraging middleware technologies like Mulesoft or Tibco
  • Hands on development experience of SOA services using different integration patterns
  • Relevant industry certifications (examples: MuleSoft Certified Developer, MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect, MCSD) preferred.
  • Ability to effectively design, prototype and develop software in MuleSoft, C#, VB.net, Java, or similar languages.
  • Knowledge of T-SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database concepts.
  • Expert level experience with software engineering tools (Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.) and methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, etc.).
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office and multiple operating systems, web servers.
  • Excellent work ethic. Ability to work and travel independently. Advanced strategic thinking skills.
  • Expert level communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. Expert level troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to influence, lead, and work as part of a cross-functional, global team.
